Factors That Affect the Leveling Process in Diablo 2: Resurrected

As with any ARPG, Diablo 2: Resurrected follows the formula wherein experience points, or EXP for short, is gained by their character to raise their levels. The twist, however, comes with the amount of experience that a player obtains after killing a monster. Several factors lead to players gaining a varying amount of EXP. These include whether they’re playing in solo or multiplayer mode. Whenever a player parties up with other players, it will affect how the EXP is distributed across the whole party. There’s also the character level aspect which alters their EXP gain percentage. The higher the level of the character is, the more difficult it is to raise their level. Plus, there’s also the matter of the difficulty mode when they’re playing the game. Choosing a harder mode allows them to get more experience points, but at the same time, they’ll be penalized should they die, so there’s a risk and reward factor. Finally, players must keep in mind the Area Level that they’re in. Area Levels are scattered throughout Diablo 2: Resurrected, and depending on the level difference between the monsters within the Area Level and their character, they may have to look for another spot that gives them more EXP.

Farming Spots in D2R That Every Player Should Know About

Let’s face it, an ARPG would be worth squat if there’s no grinding in it. Over the last 20 years, grinding has become the foundation of the Diablo series that made it what it is today. Since there are lots of zones in Diablo 2, players can expect that each of them has different area levels. The highest area level in Diablo 2: Resurrected to date is 85, with the monsters in that area able to drop almost every item in the game. But what about other area levels for low-leveled players? Fear not, for there are also options for those players that make for perfect farming spots.

Tristam
For the sellers that are going to level up a buyer’s character that has a level of 1-15, then it’s recommended that they go to Tristam as soon as they have access to it. They can repeat the killing of monsters in that area as long as they need to until they get to level 15. Once they reach that level, then that’s where they can go to Tal Rasha’s Tomb and the other areas next.

Baal/Chaos Sanctuary (Normal)
When hitting level 25, a player will have to choose between Baal or Chaos Sanctuary to farm their levels. Baal gives the most EXP between the two areas, but the Chaos Sanctuary drops better items. At the very least, sellers can change between them at their convenience after consulting the buyer what type of leveling that they want to go for. Should they want to gain more drops, then the Chaos Sanctuary is the best place. But if they want to gain experience points more than anything else, then off to Baal they go.

Ancient Tunnels

The Ancient Tunnels do not exactly have the greatest layout compared to the other areas. It can be a bit cramped for some players and with the winding passages, it’s relatively easy to get lost. However, there’s an important benefit to farming levels in the Ancient Tunnels. There are little to no cold-immune monsters there. This makes it great for players that are using cold-based builds. Since the Blizzard Sorceress and the Frozen Orb are two of the most popular builds in Diablo 2: Resurrected, it’s a prime farming location for players that are already sinking their teeth into the endgame content.
